JSE Reduces Equities Trading Fees by 7.5%

JOHANNESBURG, 8 July 2008 – Following strong growth in transactions on the equities market for the first six months of 2008 compared to the first 6 months of 2007, the JSE Limited (JSE) today announced that it would be reducing the trading fees on the equities market by 7.5% with effect from to 1 July 2008. A trade on the Main Board will now carry a transaction fee of R6,86 as opposed to the R7,42 it cost previously.

A trade on the Alt-X Market will now cost R3,43 as opposed to the R3,71 it cost previously while a Warrants trade will now cost R4,56 as opposed to the R4,93 it cost previously.
