The JSE has been considering the best way to take a stronger leadership role in the implementation of its efforts to build "next generation" systems.  Against this background, the JSE and Accenture South Africa (Pty) Limited ("Accenture") have agreed the following:

  • The JSE will strengthen its internal IT capability by bringing in-house all its IT Operations and Services with effect from 1 December 2007. This means that the team involved in the delivery of the IT Operations and Services will be transferred from Accenture to the JSE on 1 December 2007.
  • In anticipation of this change, the JSE will assume management control of all the IT Operations and Services and of the team with effect from 1 November 2007.
  • In addition, the JSE will restructure the roles and responsibilities under this project and will assume direct responsibility for the implementation of the technology transformation from 1 November 2007.

The JSE anticipates using much of Accenture's knowledge and capability to complete the project.

The JSE and Accenture are looking forward to working together to finalise this change and to successfully complete the work while remaining committed to ensuring that the transition is as seamless as possible for all JSE customers.

The JSE does not expect any material impact on its financial position or any impact to its customers or services as a result of the above changes.
